Me and The Rabbi

I've said this here before but I will reiterate.  I have nothing but the greatest respect for Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.  But he and I are going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

Why does God allow the innocent to suffer? I have no idea. He shouldn't. But our job is to fill in the empty spaces G-d seemingly vacates...

 

 

Seriously?  Consider the amount of arrogance it takes for any man to say of God - "he shouldn't". Shmuley generally won't even type the whole word 'God'.  I guess God is too holy for his name to be typed completely but not quite holy enough not to be second guessed by a would be congressman. 

 

"God why?" is a wholly acceptable question. 

'God shouldn't"  is a statement that undermines God's sovereignty.

 

And don't get me started on the last phrase "empty spaces G-d seemingly vacates".
