Beech Bend

This year we made two trips to Beech Bend Park. The kids and I had a great time. Beech Bend is like Six Flags for white trash. The rides are mainly of the traveling fair variety. They also have a mostly completed water park.

The big pluses are that you hardly ever have to wait in line for a ride. After our disastrous trip to Six Flags last year where the girls and I waited in line all the ding dong day to ride 6 rides, this was a marked improvement. If the kids liked a particular ride, they would ride, jump out, run around and get right back on. The other big plus is that soft drinks are free. Never underestimate how expensive drinks can be for a pack of kids.

The downside is that, as I mentioned, the place is not classy in the least. There are lots of people there in need of extensive dental work. It ain't pretty. Also, if big roller coasters and thrilling rides are your cup of tea, this place will probably bore the hell outta you. But, if you are looking to entertain your kids without selling a kidney, you will be supremely satisfied with this amusement park.
